DebtWave Credit Counseling, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to educating the community by offering free financial literacy seminars to businesses, schools, families and organizations. The Community Outreach department’s seminars, typically 30-40 minutes with time for questions, cover many topics ranging from how to create a monthly budget and learning strategies to prevent or eliminate credit card debt to understanding home loans and home financing.

In 2004 DebtWave launched its Wave of the Future program bringing financial literacy and credit card debt education to San Diego’s youth through high schools and colleges. The Smart with Your Money (SWYM) seminars are customized for each company or organization, based on audience interests. The workshops can be done at lunch or after hours, so it doesn’t interfere with the normal workday. Topics for seminars include developing a spending plan/budgeting, establishing financial goals, building wealth, debt management, credit reports/scores and housing counseling.

DebtWave Credit Counseling, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) organization that educates the public on the proper use of credit through budget management. Along with the SWYM educational programs, DebtWave also provides one-on-one financial counseling services, helping clients develop a financial action plan through a detailed analysis of income, living expenses and debt. DebtWave maintains ISO Certification (International Organization for Standardization), is a member of the American Association for Debt Management Organizations (AADMO) and its counselors are certified by the Center for Financial Certifications. COME JOIN US! The 3rd Annual Wave of the Future Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 29 at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos. The proceeds will benefit USO San Diego and DebtWave’s Community Outreach Program.
